What could possibly be sillier than the Yetay? How about a spooky ghost girl hologram?
...nah, upon consideration, the Yetay will always be the most absurd run-in, but credit to WWE for trying to match that level of bat-poop.
At Hell in a Cell 2014, Dean Ambrose was finally set to get his revenge against ex-Shield partner Seth Rollins. The Lunatic Fringe had been hounding on the Architect for months, and now, with Rollins laid out on cinder blocks prone for a curb stomp, Ambrose was set to go for the kill.
However, before Ambrose could make his move, the lights went out, and Bray Wyatt, who had been off TV for a while, inexplicably made his return. The aforementioned spooky ghost girl hologram appeared in the middle of the ring while cryptic noises played in the background. Ambrose, seemingly entranced by the Halloween haunted house antics, stood there like a goof instead of focusing on Rollins, and before he could do anything else, Wyatt appeared in the ring and laid out the Lunatic.
With Ambrose unconscious, Rollins meekly crawled on top of him to pick up the win, thus ending the feud with Ambrose getting absolutely no revenge. It was a booking decision that was universally derided for being contrived, and things would only get sillier from there...
