9. The Bobby Lashley, Lana And Rusev Love Triangle

Which still, somehow, is ongoing.

It began a long, long time ago, when Rusev could only watch as a returning Bobby Lashley kissed and straddled his wife in what was, at the time, the second concurrent cuckolding storyline on RAW. Lana and Lashley proceeded to go to outrageous and convoluted lengths to flaunt their love, which Lana justified by claiming Rusev, the babyface in this soap opera, was too demanding in the bedroom, and on a tank, the subtext to which was fairly troubling. A match happened, at TLC, and nobody cared, and then Lana and Lashley got married in a segment devoid totally of good comedic timing and craft, it was interrupted by Liv 'The Lesbian' Morgan, she and Lana had matches, they were just awful, and there's no longer any point to this.

Rusev doesn't care. You can have her, he said, months ago. Lana and Lashley are in the ever after. Liv Morgan is preoccupied with Ruby Riott.

It wasn't meant to get Rusev over, else he wouldn't have stared at the lights. Bobby Lashley lost to Ricochet twice recently, who couldn't even buy TV time when this saga dominated Monday nights. And it did dominate Monday nights, that's the thing. It wasn't perversely entertaining midcard fare that outstayed its welcome; it was the headline attraction, and all of it served to pop a one-week 2.4.

It is still happening.
