10 Worst WWE Champions Of Each Of The Past 10 Years

1. Edge (2008)

Disclaimer: Edge was an excellent heel. The problem with his 2008 reign as WWE Champion was that it only happened so Triple H wouldn't have to drop the title to Jeff Hardy. At least, that's how it came across at the time.

Edge's return at Survivor Series injected a drab Triple H vs. Vladimir Kozlov match (that was on life support) with some much-needed commotion. The story was that Edge had replaced an injured Hardy in the Triple Threat last-minute and won the title.

That set up an intriguing follow-up Triple Threat at Armageddon the next month, one without the imposing clunkiness of Kozlov. There, Jeff pinned Edge to win his very first WWE Title, and all was right with the world. If only.

Edge was used as collateral, and that hurt his eventual feud with Jeff leading into the new year. Both were then cast aside by February 2009 so Triple H could clash with Randy Orton. It was a messy time, and Edge's 21-day reign was smack bang in the middle of it.
