2004 - Raw to SmackDown

After WWE first split the roster between Raw and SmackDown, it was two years before the next draft took place.

The picks were up and down. Up-and-coming René Duprée went to SmackDown. The soon-to-be pushed Shelton Benjamin made his way to Raw. The most shocking pick was Triple H, who Heyman proudly announced as the newest addition to the blue brand. He was traded back later that week, in exchange for Booker T and the Dudley Boyz, which gives you an idea of how much they valued those three wrestlers at the time. 'The Game' almost made this list for how quickly he was shipped back to Raw.

With such a small number of wrestlers moving, how about sending a manager to a new brand? It sounds like a waste of time, but Teddy Long was sent to SmackDown. He went on to be the blue brand's longest serving General Manager, but with only 12 picks in 2004, this felt like a waste of time. Heyman did his best to big up Jazz' manager when he announced the pick, but this one really fell flat.

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
