10 Worst WWE Draft Selections Ever
9. Pick 9, 2002 (SmackDown): Billy And Chuck
When you think of the all-time greatest tag teams in the history of professional wrestling, chances are you're not going to think of Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo.
Plenty has already been said about how terrible and offensive this faux-homosexual tag team was, which only makes it more cringey to think that Billy and Chuck were selected as the ninth pick overall in the first WWE Draft.
Consider the caliber of wrestlers that followed this selection: Booker T (pick 10), Edge (pick 11), Brock Lesnar (pick 16), and Chris Jericho (pick 25) just to name a few. It's not as though this was a random draft like the ones that would follow.
It's obvious Billy and Chuck's selection was a ploy to bring the WWE Tag Team Championship to SmackDown with the pair simply acting as couriers. However, history will always say that Billy and Chuck hold the honour of being the first tag team ever selected in a WWE draft.
No, predicted comments section, nWo was a faction and not a tag team.
