As much drama as he caused in WWE during his time, it's fair to say that Paul Heyman has dealt with his fair share of !*$% in exchange. However, getting stuck with René Duprée as his first random selection in the 2004 draft lottery is a whole different ball game.

Plenty of fans were expecting big things when Vince McMahon announced it was time "for a new WWE" and that every Superstar would be eligible to be drafted, as well as every commentator, ring announcer, referee, injured superstar, champion, and general manager. After all, this was the first time a random lottery would determine roster changes between Raw and SmackDown.

Any of the major names in WWE during 2004 could have been that ilustrious first pick and set the tone for an incredible night of drama. Instead, SmackDown GM Paul Heyman was dealt René bloody Duprée. If you even remember who he is then a big French sticker of a golden crêpe for you.

You could be forgiven for thinking WWE was out to make Heyman and SmackDown look like a joke, especially when Heyman himself was drafted to Raw with the final selection.

Overly-opinionated Australian WWE smark who is definitely not #booty. Slowly angering the IWC one article at a time. We will probably strongly dislike each other - let's be friends! @MattKMarsden
