Whereas his tag partner and other half of the New Age Outlaws completely immersed himself in the Hardcore division, helping to build the title up and try to make it actually mean something, Billy Gunn just never looked comfortable participating in these types of matches. Which is weird, because being a member of DX should automatically mean you're comfortable with bedlam and winning a match by any means possible. But Billy Gunn was always had the most straightforward wrestling style out of any DX constituent. It's easy to get the feeling that maybe Billy Gunn only held the title once because he just...didn't want it again. And since his title reign was so easily forgettable, that might not have been such a bad decision.
