10 Worst WWE Main Event Matches Of The Decade

It’s a real shame that a second WrestleMania main event has to make this list, but few could argue this one doesn't deserve it. This is WrestleMania, the Showcase of the Immortals, the Grandest Stage of Them All. Its main event is the biggest wrestling match of the year. It cannot, under any circumstances, be reduced to merely an angle for furthering another storyline.

Unfortunately for the A-lister, that was his fate on this night. His WWE Championship match with Cena, which was somewhat underwhelming even up till this point, ended in a bizarre double count out. The reason soon became apparent as The Rock stormed his way to the ring and restarted the match. Furthermore, he turned it into a no DQ, because apparently aside from being the host he was also the General Manager of WrestleMania that year.

Predictably enough, he then Rock Bottomed Cena, allowing Miz to pick up the win, before leveling the champion as well for good measure. This had the potential to be the making of a new star. Sadly just when Miz thought he was getting his big moment, he was swept aside by the star power of two of the all-time greats who weren't in mood to relinquish the spotlight.

After battling Galactus and pinning Hulk Hogan in the main event of Wrestlemania, I've taken a break from living in fantasy worlds, to focus on writing about them. I'm a comic book geek, a wrestling mark, a break dancer, and a scientist. One of those things may not be true.
