10 Worst WWE Matches Of 2018

1. The Undertaker Vs Triple H (Super Show-Down)

A devastating tribute to the wrestlers they used to be, Triple H and The Undertaker's Super Show-Down main event might have provided a brand new decades-old spectacle for the live-starved Australian audience, but the glacial catastrophe served as a harrowing foreshadowing of the only-marginally-better doubles effort the following month.

Watching along on the WWE Network, the high spots were in fact the lowest moments, as the pair dove into the archives to provide inferior replications of some of their finest hours. 'The Deadman' had the same slackened jaw from his WrestleMania 25 with Shawn Michaels when Hunter kicked out of the tombstone, but he was grasping at straws rather gasping for breath. Undertaker decked referees as he was prone to doing when he feuded with the original version of D-Generation-X 21 years ago. The pair even fought through the crowd as they did at WrestleMania X7 - though this match was as inferior a comparison to that spirited brawl as the Melbourne Cricket Ground lawn furniture was to the priceless padded chairs from the Houston Astrodome.

Predictably, the finish borrowed from their storied past with equal inelegance. A WrestleMania 28 near-fall between the three served as the actual fall for this encounter, but Triple H's tears felt as phoney as the intentionally-faked friendship offered by The Brothers Of Destruction after the match.

The "This Is Awesome" chants didn't exist when the pair actually warranted them, but the generosity only added further tragedy to the comedy that was this woeful war. In an effort to promote the aforementioned Saudi Arabian sh*tshow, WWE shamelessly delivered something as ponderous as the WCW meanderfests they once derided. Triple H isn't 'The Game' anymore, but at least he contributed to the best match of the year too. Regrettably, The Undertaker continues to just play at being a wrestler - the saddest end to one of the greatest ever careers.
