4. DDP Becomes A Stalker

Diamond Dallas Page was starving when he began training at the old Power Plant facility in the early-to-mid-90s. Not literally, but mentally. Page yearned to show that he could defy the odds despite starting late, and he'd go on to rocket into the history books as one of WCW's greatest success stories. A self made man, DDP charmed everyone and was on top of the world by the time doors closed in 2001.

He was one of the few that had a guaranteed cheque in the mail from AOL/Time Warner who decided to rip that up and ink a WWF deal for less money. He'd come to regret that, because the repackage job McMahon had in mind for Dallas was appalling. In June, vignettes aired showing somebody stalking The Undertaker's wife Sara.

On the 18 June 2001 Raw, DDP ripped off a balaclava to reveal that he was the one behind that. He beckoned 'Taker to come find him, and often ended promos with: "Make me famous". Logically, this was in the toilet. Page was already famous. That's why the WWF brought him over from WCW in the first place. Further, he'd go on to look second rate next to one of the fed's biggest stars, and that did him no favours.

DDP's big reveal got a reaction, but fans weren't really into the whole stalker thing. Not only did they know that Dallas was married to Kimberly Page at the time, but it just didn't feel genuine or plausible besides that. He'd been an everyman workhorse over in WCW, not some crazy psychopathic stalker.

Seeing him dash over and become part of the roster without the awkward stalking would've been preferable.
