10 Worst WWE Moments Of 2001

3. Sara Pins DDP

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Vince McMahon's approach towards the WCW/ECW invasion was scattergun. Watching pretty much any of the weekly shows or main pay-per-views between May-November 2001 would reveal that. Smack bang in the middle, SummerSlam rolled around and 2 of WCW's main faces were made to look like total jobbers for no good reason.

The WWF couldn't get their hands on many of WCW's top stars like the nWo, Goldberg, Scott Steiner or Ric Flair in 2001, but they did have Diamond Dallas Page and Booker T. As established, DDP's introduction was disastrous. As if being rag-dolled around the place with good pal Kanyon like Joe Schmo on Wrestling Challenge in the 1980s by The Undertaker and Kane wasn't bad enough, then came the following evening's Raw.

Live on the flagship, Page was pinned by Undertaker's then-wife Sara in one of the most insulting displays of WWF arrogance anyone had ever witnessed. They'd gone out of their way to make DDP look like a loser at every turn. He was out of his depth vs. 'Taker at King Of The Ring, got bounced around with Kanyon at SummerSlam, and now here he was being jobbed out to somebody who wasn't even a wrestler.

This, believe it or not, was Sara's only wrestling match. She was put over a multi-time WCW World Champion mere months after the McMahons had purchased that promotion and made it known they planned to hit the reset button then rehab the brand. Or, maybe they'd just let non-wrestling wives stroll in and pin some of the few main event level WCW stars they had.

That makes sense, right? Horrible.
