10 Worst WWE Moments Of 2004

7. The Rock’s Diva Search Snore

Initially, the entire 2004 Diva Search was going to go here. After all, a 'Lingerie Pillow Fight' between Christy Hemme and Carmella (not that one) at Taboo Tuesday in October could be considered one of the worst WWE PPV/PLE matches of all time. Thankfully, it was short. The same cannot be said for events on the 23 August '04 edition of flagship show Raw.

Brevity was not on the menu that night.

The Rock returned to WWE and interrupted Coach’s Diva Search segment. An awful lot of innuendo followed, then Rocky introduced a “Pie Eating Contest” for the remaining contestants. Rather infamously, an enthusiastic Hemme said that her behind was hungry before thumping pie against her butt and dishing out stinkfaces. What a sentence that is.

The interminable skit ended with a beatdown on La Resitance and Coach, but not before both Tajiri and Rhyno also bizarrely got involved. For the record, this was Rock’s last proper appearance until 2011. What a waste. It hoovered up approx 20 minutes on a 2-hour show and achieved nothing other than making 'The Great One' look like a horny mess (he even hit on ring announcer Lilian Garcia here).

Remember, this was engineered to make people care about the Diva Search winner. Surely they could've wrapped it up in less than 10 minutes. Instead, The Rock bored himself senseless on the mic, and people continued to yawn their way through the titillation on offer.

You know it's bad when even Rock appearing for the first time in months can't save your segment.
