In hindsight, workers like Lita and Trish Stratus in their prime could never hold a candle to the excellence of WWE's female ranks since 2015-ish. Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks/Mercedes Mone, Bayley, Stephanie Vaquer, Bianca Belair, Tiffany Stratton and others have all taken women's wrestling in the company places Trish and Lita could've only dreamed of a generation ago.

Despite that, Lita defo deserved a more pleasing send off than the one she was handed at Survivor Series 2006. She lost the old Women's Title to Mickie James on that PPV, which wasn't the bad bit. Mickie was one of the next-gen hopefuls at the time, and she was a worthy final opponent for everyone's favourite moonsault-giving Diva.

Post-match, Cryme Tyme duo Shad Gaspard and JTG came out and sold off some of Lita’s stuff they’d stolen earlier to the live crowd, including her underwear. They even had yeast infection medication and fans chanted pretty unsavoury things in her direction. Yikes. This was a really rotten send off for one of the greats, and it doesn't make for good viewing today.

Sure, WWE likely argued that they were only making light of things and gently ribbing Lita, but yeast infection medicine?! Come on now. Today's women would play before chants like, "Fight Forever" or, "This Is Awesome", not some of the things fired Lita's way approx 20 years ago.

There was no need to humiliate somebody who was reinventing the wheel for the women's game in a promotion that 100% didn't care about it until Trish and Lita forced everyone to pay attention. What a mean-spirited call from Vince McMahon/WWE creative.
