10 Worst WWE PPV Matches Of 2019 (So Far)
2. Baron Corbin vs. Kurt Angle (WrestleMania 35)
OK, change of plan. Time for some Baron Corbin hate.
Only kidding (sort of), but even the biggest Corbin-ite couldn't defend what WWE pulled at WrestleMania 35. One of the greatest in-ring legends of all time, Kurt Angle, was powerless to stop his final ever match in a company ring from turning into a farce. This was not the send off our 'Olympic Hero' had in mind, and who can blame him?
Dubbed his 'Farewell Match', the six-minuter was so offensively poor that WWE might as well have stuck a finger up mid-wave when Kurt wasn't looking. Fans didn't see Corbin as a suitable opponent, and no amount of 'I know you hate me but I don't care' posturing could change that. This made Batista's last match look like 'Taker vs. Michaels at 'Mania XXVI by comparison.
There's no justification for it either. Angle should've been afforded the courtesy of choosing his own opponent, and he definitely shouldn't have jobbed when they decided it was Corbin. "You Suck" has never been more apropos.
