10 Worst WWE PPV Matches Of 2019 (So Far)
5. Ronda Rousey vs. Ruby Riott (Elimination Chamber)
It's always interesting to analyse the difference between what makes a match "too long" and what makes one "too short". The rules are iffy, but Ronda Rousey vs. Ruby Riott falls into neither category. It was just pointless to begin with, and goes down in company annals as a complete waste of the TV time it gobbled up to build.
On Raw, Michael Cole claimed Riott Squad leader Ruby could change the face of WrestleMania by upsetting Ronda and taking the Raw Women's Title. Then, at Elimination Chamber, Rousey pasted Riott in less than two minutes. She spent more time posing as Sonya Blade from Mortal Kombat than she did actually working the match.
It was a miserable misuse of pay-per-view minutes.
Ruby looked like a jobber, Ronda gained nothing by beating her and the show would've been better off without the showdown. Anyone who even thinks about comparing this to Brock Lesnar's blunt, short romps over the years should get the same kicking Riott did.
