All the promise Ricochet showed as one of Paul Heyman's new Raw disciples in 2019 was washed away in 94 seconds at Super ShowDown earlier this year. There, the high-flyer was made to look like a total jobber against 'The Beast Incarnate', and he's barely been spotted since outside of tag matches.

So much for that push.

The puzzling thing here is that Ricochet didn't actually do anything wrong as a character before being sacrificed to Lesnar. He's hardly The Rock on the mic, but who is? Inside the ring, Rico is fluid, dazzling and capable as an underdog babyface. Instead of giving him something to work with in Saudi though, WWE made him this generation's Funaki.

Granted, the company wanted to make Brock look dominant before his loss to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36. Still, there were other ways to achieve that without slaughtering Ricochet's potential for greater things and moving on like he was some gnat Lesnar had swatted.
