Goldust and Marlena were way ahead of their time, but everything about their promotional shoot screamed 1990's-- especially all the body painting. Dustin Rhodes emerged on the WWF scene in 1995 as Goldust, basically a walking Oscar award. What better way to capitalize on the irony of his gimmick than to paint he and wife Marlena up like they're Academy Awards? Well if that wasn't enough, poor Dustin was also put in a thong. The two then made creative use of giant golden balls. Yeah. The shoot ended up being published in Raw magazine and actually sold really well. The photo shoot thrust the WWE forward in a new direction and helped launch the fledgling magazine and set it apart from the brand's long running WWE magazine.
