10 Worst WWE Royal Rumble Winners Ever

9. Braun Strowman (Greatest Royal Rumble)

Such is the strength of the Royal Rumble winners list, the non-canon match from the Greatest Royal Rumble pay-per-view makes an appearance. It was the third Rumble of 2018, which was overkill already before you factor in the 50-strong field. Strowman certainly wouldn't have been the worst option to win the actual 2018 Rumble, but giving him the trinket non-prize of a Saudi belt was an Andre Memorial Battle Royale-worthy death knell for The Monster Among Men.

It was never brought up again, never used by Braun to warrant any kind of push up the card, nothing. The 'belt' itself vanished, presumably thrown into the jets of the WWE's outgoing plane back to the US. Most of the participants were fodder, in a match that was only eight minutes longer than the 30-man Rumble in 2002, making for a stodgy mess that everybody immediately wanted to forget about.

Apart from Titus Worldslide, that was glorious.

This entry is more devoted to the fact that the Greatest Royal Rumble match was a stupid idea to begin with, and was never going to be accepted into ongoing storylines by the fans. They might as well have booked Vince McMahon to win it. Even WWE aren't that thick, though...
