10 Worst WWE Smackdown Main Events Ever
2. The Great Khali Vs. Kane - August 17, 2007
A WrestleMania rematch for the ages! Four months after doing battle at WrestleMania 23, The Great Khali and Kane did battle once more, only this time the stakes were much higher. Somehow, someway, Khali had managed to win the World Heavyweight Championship, and a succession of giants was obviously going to make up the list of challengers.
I say 'somehow, someway', what I mean is that Khali won a wretched battle royal for the title. WWE could have gone with Batista, could have gone with Kurt Angle, could have gone with anyone other than The Great Khali. That match wasn't even the main event of its show, which explains its lack of presence here. The title ended up in the hands of Khali, upside down in his hands, no less.
Back to Kane and Khali, unfortunately. This was every Khali vs. Kane match but with added importance, which makes it exponentially worse. Khali got the win because of course he did, and everyone watching aged a little in the process. The seven minutes of this match felt like dog years, terrible dog years that no one will ever get back.
