2. The Gobbledy Gooker Debacle (1990)

Before the 1990 iteration of the Survivor Series, the WWF spent a lot of time hyping the mystery of what was contained inside a giant egg. Many fans figured it'd be the debut of a brand new wrestler, or perhaps even a crafty trap for a top babyface, set by a heel rival. As it turned out, it wasn't any of these options.

On the show itself, 'Mean' Gene Okerlund watched in awe as the egg started to hatch. Out of nowhere, a man dressed as a giant turkey emerged from the shell, much to the surprise of the ever-professional announcer. Revealing the turkey to be 'The Gobbledy Gooker', Okerlund then proceeded to dance with the guy inside the ring.

It was a seriously strange looking affair. Underneath all that material, poor Hector Guerrero was tasked with playing the Gooker. Fans pelted the segment with cat calls, despite the announcers assuring people at home that they were loving what they were seeing. Quite clearly, they weren't, and the skit has even been laughed at by WWE since. The Gobbledy Gooker made a few more appearances, before disappearing.
