10 Worst WWE Title Challengers

7. Eric Bischoff

While these previous entries may not have been main event mainstays, at least they were all actual wrestlers. Which is more than can be said for our next entry, Eric Bischoff.

Don’t get me wrong; as an authority figure, Bischoff was great. As an in-ring performer, though, he was certainly no Shane or even Vince McMahon. Nonetheless, that didn’t stop him from challenging John Cena for the WWE Championship on the Oct, 3, 2005 edition of Raw.

This was in fact a special 'homecoming' edition of Raw, celebrating the show’s return to the USA Network, and so naturally the company wanted a WWE Title match they could shout about. This, however, wasn’t quite what fans might have hoped for.

Vince McMahon had surprised everyone when he placed Bischoff in that title match, as opposed to Kurt Angle. And John Cena surprised no one when he scored the victory after less than three minutes.

As a part of Cena’s programme with Angle, this one at least had some kind of longer-term ramifications. Regardless, Eric Bischoff should never be challenging for the company’s premier prize under any circumstance.
