10 Worst WWE Title Challengers

5. Vladimir Kozlov

Vladimir Kozlov Triple H

Just a quick as Ryback’s rise to a title shot, was that of Vladimir Kozlov. Having re-debuted during the post-WrestleMania season, by September he was demanding better competition which all sounds rather similar to the case of our previous entry.

By September he was going after that competition by his own volition, targeting Jeff Hardy and the WWE Champion Triple H, and kicking off a feud between the three which would culminate in a Triple Threat tussle at Survivor Series. Hardy was replaced by Edge after a storyline injury in which he was found unconscious in a hotel room, mind.

Again, like Ryback, Kozlov failed to capture the Championship, but unlike The Bug Guy, Kozlov would soon fade from the title picture and didn’t receive another opportunity.

He flirted with an ECW Title run, but other than that he was doomed to mid-card obscurity and ultimately a comedy run with Santino Marella. This may have brought us the dance-off to end all dance-offs, but it was still a major demotion and an indictment of Kozlov's actual ability level.

Because dance-off competitors don’t really make for decent WWE Title challengers.
