WWE’s women’s divisions are a mess at the moment. The glaring issues have been caused by a lazy attitude from management to create any sustainable story development that generates exciting and credible title challengers, which, as a result, means neither brand has a female roster with depth. An injection of fresh stars or committing to focusing on building a new raft of championship contenders would do wonders for the division.

This is where talent from NXT UK can be brought in to solve such a problem. Hence, the addition of Piper Niven to Raw had the potential to be awesome, and while it's still early in her main roster tenure, her prospects were dashed on day one.

Repackaging the Scottish powerhouse as Doudrop is head-scratching stuff and could easily become yet another example of WWE ruining a talented superstar with a horrible name change. Chad Gable is still feeling the effects of his Shorty G period and Niven now finds herself in the same identity crisis conundrum.

The second misstep was aligning Doudrop with the newly returned Eva Marie, one of WWE’s most unpopular performers of the modern era.

Doudrop is a good wrestler and her time with NXT UK showcased her ability to carry herself as a formidable powerhouse. Sadly, she is clear-cut proof that a bad name-change and a dislikeable friend/manager is an extremely difficult combination to debut with.
