10 Worst WWE Transformations In Recent Memory
3. Otis
WWE has no idea how to produce popular babyfaces that fans will organically cheer for. Lucky for them, one glowing goofball fell straight into their laps not too long ago.
The Heavy Machinery tag team was a boatload of fun and one of the few NXT acts better suited to the main roster, where their comedy antics were more appreciated. Tucker and Otis had the fans on their side, but it was the latter who truly paved his way into our hearts.
His soap opera storyline with Mandy Rose was heartwarmingly fun, and his feud with Dolph Ziggler was somehow the most carefully booked match going into WrestleMania 36. There was money in Otis, but WWE saw this and got way too ahead of themselves, booking Otis into a gigantic corner by making him Mr Money In The Bank. He was a fun character, but he had a ceiling, and he was not World Championship material. Then, of course, WWE split up his tag team with Tucker when no one asked for it, leaving Otis to fend for himself, when he could not be afforded such a desertion, inevitably losing his lunchbox briefcase.
The crème de la crème of Otis’s downfall was turning heel, an illogical move that was a massive downgrade. As part of Alpha Academy, his charming personality has been stripped away for the sake of becoming a bland powerhouse.
