Speaking of which, Alberto Del Rio was another who was let down by the WWE creative team. Returning amidst fanfare at Hell In A Cell, Del Rio surprisingly defeated John Cena to become the new WWE United States Champion. Instantly though, his union with Zeb Colter didn't appeal to anyone.

Capitalising on the chance to promote a quick mini-feud, Colter's former client Jack Swagger was brought into the mix. At TLC 2015, Swagger and Del Rio went head-to-head in a 'Chairs Match'. By far, that stipulation is the hardest sell on the TLC pay-per-view, paling in comparison to the titular bout itself, and even others like Ladder and Tables Matches.

Much like many others on this list, Swagger vs. Del Rio was sorely let down by the build going into the match. Fans just didn't seem all that interested in what was going on, with many on social media crying out for the reigning champ to disassociate himself from Colter.

A lacklustre story and difficult match stipulation combined to put Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger in a no-win situation.
