10 Worst WWE World Champions Ever - Where Are They Now?

9. Rob Van Dam

Jack Swagger World Heavyweight Champion
WWE/AEW

Title: WWE Title

Length: 22 Days (11 June-3 July 2006).

Where He Is Now: Yeah, sorry, but Rob Van Dam's 22-day run as WWE Champ in 2006 qualifies for this list. It was criminally short, but the company had an excuse; RVD was arrested on drug possession charges in early July, so management decided to take the belt off him and give it to Edge.

That was very much that. Rob would never hold the biggest prize again.

The embarrassment didn't halt Van Dam's legacy from growing though. He's popped back up on WWE TV countless times over the years, and even appeared on AEW Dynamite to tease an expected FTW Title showdown with Jack Perry. That's been rumoured for All Elite's All In London event at the end of August.

What a career renaissance moment that'd be for the guy. He might not have soared as WWE Champ, but Rob has remained popular with hardcore wrestling fans - so much so that he has people talking about a 2023 comeback.
