Randy Orton Triple H WrestleMania 25
WWE.com

Seven years on from his bout with Y2J and The Game found himself back in the WrestleMania main event, this time defending the world title against Royal Rumble winner, Randy Orton.

WWE did everything they could to build interest in this re-run of the Evolution break-up feud, including having Triple H invade Randy's home and Orton kissing an unconscious Stephanie McMahon (no, this wasn't the Attitude Era, it was 2009).

Sadly, though, they just couldn't compete with one of the best matches in WWE history.

Just minutes before this main event, The Undertaker battled Shawn Michaels in the first of their two iconic WrestleMania encounters. The two legends left everything in the ring and put on one of the most critically-lauded matches in the company's history. Once again, Triple H was left with a tough act to follow.

Almost every critic, fan, casual viewer, and confused boxing fan has the same opinion - that 'Taker/Michaels should have closed the show. However, once again, the championship was given priority and, once again, the match suffered as a result.

Sorry, Trips.
