10 Worst WWE WrestleMania Opening Matches Ever

7. The Magnificent Muraco Vs. Paul Orndorff (WrestleMania 2)

Whomever put the green light on a double count out to open WrestleMania 2, please hang your head in shame. Don Muraco vs. Paul Orndorff wasn't guaranteed to be the best match by any means, but it was motoring along just fine before that stupid, stupid finish.

Ignore any claims from older fans that this was a "different time", because Muraco vs. Orndorff deserved better than four minutes. They'd barely warmed up before the plug was pulled. Don't forget that Orndorff had been in the main event of the first 'Mania show just over 12 months earlier too.

Here, Mr. Wonderful was relegated to jerking the curtain on the Nassau Coliseum leg of WrestleMania 2's tri-city experiment.

In fairness, a lot of matches on the 'Mania 2 card were short. Again though, that'd be lazy justification for a grudge match (Muraco had become involved in Orndorff's bounty storyline with Bobby Heenan) that needed to do more for Orndorff's recent babyface turn.
