10 Worst WWE WrestleMania Opening Matches Ever

WrestleMania XV was a one-match show. Steve Austin vs. The Rock was the one everybody came to see, and that seemingly led the WWF to believe they could wheel out any old guff and call it 'Mania worthy.

Aside from Austin vs. Rock and possibly Shane McMahon vs. X-Pac, everything else on the card felt like it belonged on Raw rather than pay-per-view. The opener is a perfect example of that, and there were problems before the bell rang; Billy Gunn, the Hardcore Champion, had been chasing the Intercontinental Title before the show. A good-old swerve meant he replaced Road Dogg in the Hardcore mix.

That should never have happened. Gunn was an odd-man out in the Hardcore Triple Threat, and so was Road Dogg in the IC Title match later. Things became even more random when Hardcore Holly won the belt in just over seven minutes.

Gee, thanks Vince Russo.
