10 WrestleMania 34 Card Predictions After SummerSlam 2017

9. Cruiserweight Title Ladder Match

Multi-person ladder matches have become a WrestleMania tradition. The stipulation used to be a lock for the Intercontinental Championship, but WM 33 saw it given to Raw's tag teams instead, with The Hardy Boyz' incredible return highlighting one of the night's strongest bouts. WWE will likely get the ladders out in New Orleans, and while they could definitely give them to the tag division again, the cruiserweights make more sense.

205 Live has a tiny roster, and WWE have already run through most of Neville's potential challengers. He'll likely lose the belt before 'Mania, but regardless, there are only so many singles bouts you can make with a 14-man group. Any one-on-one clash would probably be a repeat of something we've already seen, so the ladder match would at least provide variety.

Besides, this is precisely the kind of bout people want to see from the cruisers. 205's current 'Raw Lite' style hasn't captured the audience's attention, and it'd be great to see WWE turn their lighter weight class loose in an all-action spotfest. We don't want headlocks and sleeper holds, but flips, dives, and endless highlight reels.
