Supposedly, the contempt in which Roddy Piper held Mr. T prior to their WrestleMania 2 boxing match was so intense, that WWE oddly ordered 'Hot Rod' to lock his hands into fists so that he wouldn't leather his bête noire for real.

Piper's animosity stemmed from the previous year's WrestleMania; he had been utterly livid that he was forced to sell for a non-wrestler - and one who in his eyes, didn't respect the business one jot. Quite why he signed on for a money-spinning boxing match in Uniondale a year later is anyone's guess.

On the day of the show, officials ordered Piper to tape his hands into a fist before sheathing them with the padded mitts. Since his fingers wouldn't reach the end of the soft sheathes, he'd be in no danger of battering the A-Team star's mug for real. So said Piper, anyway.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
