10 Wrestler Allegiance Switches That Must Happen In 2022
4. Darby Allin - Heel
Darby Allin is a death-defying, charismatic, face painted enigma, much like Jeff Hardy, which helps him in his ultimate underdog babyface persona. However, he is also a do what he wants renegade that will do anything to inflict pain on his opponents, even if that means inflicting pain on himself, which is a trait that can easily translate into being a bad guy. Thus, one of AEW's biggest faces could become one of their biggest heels with a quick flip of the switch.
This whole Sting association is only going to go so far, one has to eventually turn on the other, doesn't it? With Sting's universal fanfare, one can assume that it will be Darby that grows tired of the alliance and ditches Sting. What better way to get instant heat for Darby than retiring 'The Icon'?
After this, Allin can go on a rampage through the AEW midcard, taking out everyone and anyone that gets between him and what he wants with complete reckless abandonment. A move such as this could even rocket him into the main event scene if played right. Of course, he could always come back to the good side eventually, but a couple of years as a cold-hearted killer could do him a world of good.
