10 Wrestler Allegiance Switches That Must Happen In 2022
3. Sami Zayn - Face
Sami Zayn has been a heel for over four years now, just let that sink in. After being the heart and soul of NXT, before Johnny Gargano came along, Zayn burst onto the main roster as THE hottest babyface in the company. He was able to pump up the fans unlike no other and in return, they adored him and clamoured for him to win a title, any title, it didn't matter, the people simply wanted Sami on top. When he turned heel in late 2017 to join forces with Kevin Owens, most assumed it would be a short term thing, leading to one turning on the other and Zayn rocketing back to the top of popularity. However, it was Owens that turned good and Zayn remained the bad guy.
His current conspiracy theorist gimmick will take him no where near main event status, unless it's jokingly being beaten up by Brock Lesnar. It is time for a change and if WWE are serious about giving him more screen time in order to convince him to stay put, they need to make this change ASAP. Sami could be back to being the firey babyface that we know and love in no time and it genuinely would give him a spot in the main event scene as a face Sami Vs. Heel Roman for the title could produce multiple Pay-Per-View Matches. Good guy Sami Zayn is truly what's best for business.
