10 Wrestler Deaths WWE Didn't Acknowledge

6. 'WWF President' Jack Tunney - 2004

Jack Tunney was one of the most important characters in WWF history, leading the company as their 'President' from 1984 to 1995. What did WWE do for their decade long President when he sadly died in 2004? Absolutely nothing. It's a part of wrestling history which Vince McMahon would rather you forgot. The truth all along of course was that Tunney had no power, he was just a scripted character, real WWF head Vince McMahon was busy on commentary duties, never acknowledging his real role as the WWF's founder. Once Vince emerged as the heel chairman in 1997 the Tunney story was brushed under the carpet, where it remains to this day. Despite the presidency being fictional, many fans felt WWE should have acknowledged his death aged 68. You can't deny he was one of the most important imaginary characters of his era, presiding over angles that led to numerous WrestleMania main events. Not one person from WWE attended Tunney's funeral, nor was an announcement made on wwe.com.
