Despite never winning championship gold in WWE, fans may be shocked to realize that Rosa Mendes managed to have nearly a decade-long run under Vince McMahon's employ. After coming up short in the 2006 Diva Search, she signed a contract with the company, allowing her to continue training.

After two years in developmental, Rosa made her first appearance as a planted fan in the crowd. She was shown heavily on camera, with a sign showing her support for Women's Champion Beth Phoenix. After several weeks of this, Santino Marella, Beth's boyfriend, announced that she was the couple's biggest fan and had front row seats for many of Beth's matches.

After jumping the guardrail to attack Melina, who was feuding with Phoenix over the Women's Title, Rosa was banned from WWE by Stephanie McMahon. Santino found a way around this by hiring Rosa Mendes as the group's intern. The pattern of attacking Phoenix's rivals continued into the new year, even after The Glamazon lost her championship.

After Beth took some time off, Mendes shifted into a role as the new valet of Carlito, quietly ending her association to Phoenix and Santino. This kickstarted Rosa's run of managing a large number of WWE Superstars throughout her time with the company.
