10 Wrestlers AEW Failed In 2022
9. Private Party
When AEW launched, Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy were touted as a young tandem who had the potential to become a major force in tag team wrestling. Here we are, over three years later, and Private Party are no better off than they were when they made their AEW bow at June 2019's Fyter Fest.
It was their match against the Young Bucks on the second-ever episode of Dynamite which really had people sit up and take notice of Quen and Kassidy, with them presented as successors to the Bucks' throne. Alas, that role as successors seems a million miles away right now.
Private Party are two highly talented, promising performers who have a unique charisma and some special tandem offense. The problem is, it's tough for such an act to truly get better if they're not getting the opportunity to showcase their skills on TV and in meaningful rivalries against great teams.
There have only been a handful of Private Party matches on TV this year, and instead, Quen and Kassidy have been left to demonstrate their abilities in 19 YouTube outings. While Dark and Dark: Elevation are good places for young talents to hone their craft, there has to be that sink-or-swim moment where an act is given the ball to run with. And considering how much AEW talked up this duo as far back as 2019, it's frustrating to see the promotion so hesitant to feature Private Party as a regular in-ring act on Dynamite, Rampage or possibly even on PPVs.
