10 Wrestlers AEW Let Slip Through Their Fingers

9. Nick Aldis

NWA Powerrr likely would have never seen the light of day had Nick Aldis accepted AEW's offer in 2019. Thankfully, the NWA Worlds Heavyweight champion opted to remain with the NWA and build the brand into what it is today.

It should come as no surprise that AEW would want Aldis a part of their roster. He was a focal point on their All In show in September 2018 when Cody beat him for his prized possession, only to win it back soon after at an NWA-sanctioned event. Both bouts were excellent and a rubber match surely would have been equally entertaining.

Aldis would be an excellent addition to any roster fortunate enough to have him, but for now, he's the face of the NWA and is doing fantastic work every Tuesday night on Powerrr.

He's confirmed in various interviews that he'd be willing to join AEW so long as he can continue to compete in the NWA and help behind the scenes. Apparently, the powers that be in AEW weren't interested in the idea of there being a working relationship between the two companies.

NWA has done pretty well for itself on its own in recent months, so needless to say, Aldis made the right choice.
