10 Wrestlers AEW MUST Sign Next

4. Tony Nese

Tony Nese finds himself in a similar situation to Stallion Rogers, in that he was let go by WWE at the end of June, though 'The Premier Athlete' is bound by a longer non-compete clause that'll prevent him from competing until 23 September.

This never stopped Nese from being backstage at a recent Dynamite broadcast. The same episode as Kiera Hogan, for those wondering. Considering Kiera is now scheduled for a couple of AEW appearances, the future looks alright for Nese fans.

To repeat a phrase that's been mentioned throughout this list, ol' Tony fits the ethos of All Elite Wrestling brilliantly well. Despite turning 36-years-old earlier in August, Nese can execute a superlative 450 Splash, is a cocky d*ck when he wants to be, and can produce a banger of a match without the need to gloat about doing so. His WrestleMania 35 pre-show outing vs. Buddy Murphy was such a great encounter that WWE themselves forgot it had happened mere days after it went down.

Had Nese gone through the NXT system as opposed to starting on 205 Live with the odd appearance in Triple H's super indie, he might have been alright in WWE. His work is that of an exemplary star from NXT's peak circa-2018. Nonetheless, he'll cut it in AEW should Tony Khan be keen.
