10 Wrestlers AEW Should Build To Dethrone MJF

3. Ricky Starks

He may not have been able to get the better of the holder of the Big Burberry Belt on December 14, but make no mistake, this definitely won't be the last time Ricky Starks goes one-on-one with MJF over the big one.

Not by a long shot.

In the Absolute star's recent attempts to take home not only The Salt of the Earth's new belt, but the Dynamite Diamond Ring, too, Starks showcased exactly how ready he was for the big time.

His scintillating promo exchanges with one of the greatest mic workers of this era forced many to actually believe in the unthinkable; that the former FTW Champion could somehow walk out of his adopted state of Texas as the new AEW World Champion so early into the Reign of Terror.

And while he did ultimately come up short thanks to a whack to the b*ll*cks, Starks time will come again if AEW are fond of making money - which is precisely what Starks vs. MJF II would generate plenty of.

Also, forcing Starks to once again work from the back of the line to the front over the next year or so would only make the moment he finally overthrows The Devil that little more satisfying to behold.
