10 Wrestlers AEW Should Build To Dethrone MJF
4. Malakai Black
In the time before The House of Black made their emphatic comeback to All Elite programming at the end of November, Malakai Black had largely found himself a little lost in the shuffle when it came to his singles run in the company.
After the sort of debut that made the former NXT Champion feel like a bona fide force of nature out of the gates, besting Cody Rhodes in just four minutes on August 4, 2021's Dynamite, Black eventually growing into a legitimate World Championship threat felt pretty much guaranteed. But that momentum wasn't properly built on, and Black never really rediscovered that unsettling mojo in the months that followed.
Now though, with the one-time Tommy End very much coming across as a cold-hearted destroyer once again as The House of Black reassert their dominance on the AEW landscape, it feels like as good a time as ever to start re-establishing Malakai's main event aura in the lead-up to an eventual collision with MJF.
Watching these two polar opposites come face-to-face feels about as fresh as it does unpredictable. And the idea of The House of Black's war on everyone leading to the squad's leader holding the top title in the company now doesn't feel quite as unrealistic as it once did.
