2. Shinsuke nakamura
Shinsuke barely wrestled during his Intercontinental Title reign, but there were extenuating circumstances. Shin had picked up the kind of injury that normally keeps a a performer off TV for a bit.
That being the case, it actually looked a good sign that Nakamura maintained an on-screen presence alongside Rick Boogs during that time. It seemed WWE saw him as someone worth keeping in the spotlight and perhaps had big plans for him when he was fit and ready to work again.
Perhaps that was wishful thinking or maybe plans have changed. Either way, they’ve given the IC Title to Sami Zayn. That’s no bad thing. Zayn is wildly entertaining and deserves a prominent spot. A rumoured celebrity bout between Zayn and Johnny Knoxville should be a lot of fun.
Even so, it’s bad timing for “The King Of Strong Style.” Expect a title rematch on TV, but after that Shinsuke’s WrestleMania weekend might be freed up for him to go surfing this year. Which, to be fair, might actually be his preference.
