5. Adam Cole
According to various reports, Adam Cole was already injured when he walked into the four-way match at Forbidden Door. However, something happened in the match that made things much worse for Cole.
The former NXT Champion was set to take a Rainmaker from Kazuchika Okada only to collapse before the clothesline hit. This seemingly screwed up the planned finish of the match, with Jay White being forced to go into an early pin on his fallen friend. However, fans were far more concerned with Cole's well-being.
It came out after the event that Mr. Britt Baker had suffered a serious concussion. This wasn't the only bad news for Cole fans, as it was then revealed that he had also been concussed in his match at Double or Nothing and he had refused surgery on a torn labrum prior to that show.
Bobby Fish said in August 2022 that both Cole and O'Reilly would be back in the ring soon, but that has yet to materialise. Others have claimed that Cole's recovery is "completely unpredictable", so we'll just have to keep our eyes peeled and cross our fingers in the meantime.
