10 Wrestlers Most Hated By Their Peers

2. Triple H

You could probably write a book on why Triple H has been hated by fellow wrestlers. The list of people who have publicly taken shots at The Game goes on and on and there is a recurring theme to the outcry: Triple H puts himself and his friends over in order to make more money and stunt the growth of other wrestlers' careers. As a member of The Clique in the mid-90's, Triple H learned from some of the best locker room politicians around. Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels were all well-known for trying to change booking plans and going off the script whenever they felt like it. Triple H was just their bag boy at that point but he would apply their 'wisdom' as he ascended the ladder in the early 2000's. Triple H victim number one is Kurt Angle. The Olympic gold medalist was one of the fastest rising superstars in the WWF in 2000 and was involved in a hot storyline with Triple H and Triple H's on-screen wife Stephanie. Kurt was getting over so Triple H made sure that he won the feud prematurely and decisively. Kurt resented him for it. Then there are Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam and Booker T, three promising midcarders who had their main event hopes dashed when they got in the ring with Triple H. Jericho's Undisputed Title rain was a dud when he was reduced to playing Triple H's punching bag and Stephanie's glorified assistant. Rob Van Dam had his legs cut off from under him when he openly complained about Triple H's politicking in interviews and Booker T was pinned nineteen seconds after suffering a pedigree at WrestleMania XIX (after weeks of Triple H making racially insensitive comments to boot). Yes, Triple H was on the warpath from 2000-2004, when he suddenly decided to put talent over the right way for a while. Then, later in the year, he was up to his old tricks again, dethroning the newly babyface Randy Orton of the World Heavyweight Championship after the Legend Killer had held it for only one month. There are many, many more instances of Triple H's self-serving behaviour but these ones should demonstrate why he's perhaps not the most well-liked superstar in WWE.
