10 Wrestlers NJPW Should Consider For Next Year's G1 Tournament

5. WALTER

WALTER: the man so intimidating, you have no choice but to spell his name in all-caps. Otherwise, he will chop you to death.

The 30-year-old Austrian native hasn't been known on the worldwide stage for very long, having mainly made a name for himself in Germany's wXw. However, thanks to his involvement in PWG and Progress, he's made major waves as one of the best heavyweights in wrestling. Such accomplishments include being both the current PWG and Progress World Champions, as well as the Defiant Internet Champion.

Despite mainly working in Europe and America, WALTER's roots have a heavy Japanese influence. He was trained in part by New Japan's resident stiff motherf*cker Tomohiro Ishii, and it shows. WALTER's chops are some of the stiffest in the business, and his seeming resistance to pain is a huge selling point.

Should New Japan open its doors to outsiders for the next G1, WALTER should definitely be on their shortlist. He could fill the void left by wrestlers such as Katsuyori Shibata, who is still in a medically-induced retirement. WALTER may be Austrian, but chops as hard as his are universal.
