10 Wrestlers Other Wrestlers Were Scared Of
3. Bruiser Brody
The entire aura behind Lex Luger's 'Lex Express' rise in the early-90s would've been shattered had WWF fans witnessed his scared expression when the wild-eyed Bruiser Brody stopped selling his punches in 1987. Right there in the middle of a cage match, Brody decided to quit playing along and stared a hole through the well-muscled newcomer.
Uh oh.
Lex wasn't the first to ponder if Bruiser was genuinely dangerous. That threatening mystique was something Brody would pride himself on throughout his career, and he successfully managed to freak Luger out. According to The Wrestling Observer's report later, Brody told Lex afterwards that he didn't have a problem with him, but said the match 'just wasn't working'.
He might've told Luger that when he stopped selling. Per the Observer, a ringside fan reportedly heard Lex yell to referee Bill Alfonso, "Get the door open, he's nuts!", though this isn't audible in some fan-cam footage from the event.
