10 Wrestlers Punished In-Ring For Their Behaviour

9. Chopped Into Oblivion

Kurt Angle is not just one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time but one of the greatest amateurs too. Winning an Olympic gold medal with a broken freakin’ neck in 1996, Angle is a living legend in amateur circles to this day. During his stint in WWE, everyone from Brock Lesnar to Vince McMahon tried to get the better of him backstage to no avail. His grappling abilities were simply on another level.

That being said, upsets happen to all from time to time and for Angle, they came in the form of Daniel Puder. Angle ran a shoot wrestling segment with Tough Enough contestants in November 2004. Most of the rookies were dismantled by the Olympian with ease until the MMA trained Puder stepped up. Catching Angle in a kimura lock, referee Jimmy Korderas had to cut the match short with an improptu pin count. Had Korderas not stepped in, Angle’s arm would’ve soon been broken.

Angle and just about everyone else in the locker room were appalled by Puder’s actions. As punishment, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit chopped the hell out of Puder during 2005’s Royal Rumble match. Stiffly brutalising the brash upstart, Benoit and Guerrero would soon be joined by repeat offender Bob Holly. The three appeared to be having the time of their lives beating the hell out of the Tough Enough winner. Puder, continuing the curse of the Tough Enough winner, was released by the company soon after.
