Let's get ready to suck it.

Wrestling has given us tons of classic matches that we’ll forever remember, from Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania 25 to Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle at Royal Rumble 2003, to Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness at ROH Unified.

But for every five star match there’s a negative star match just around the corner. It’s considerably easier to have a terrible match than a great one. The reason why these matches are horrible differs and varies. Some feature ludicrous gimmicks, some feature two wrestlers who just simply aren’t great bell-to-bell and others are unexplainable – two great performers who just had a bad night. If you can take anything good away from lousy matches it's that they’re used on the opposite spectrum to compare to truly great matches and we develop a deeper appreciation for the effort performers put into dishing out an incredible match.

In pro wrestling, there are always going to be matches fans wish they could erase from their memories. This goes the same for wrestlers themselves. Look only to recently, when The Undertaker grimaced his way through watching his 'Mania match with Roman Reigns in full for the first time for his Last Ride documentary. Even the greatest mat technicians that have laced up a pair of boots have freely admitted to having bad bouts on occasion.

You’d think this list would be filled with rotten gimmick matches but there are more rotten regular matches than any other. They took place on the indies and house shows and TV and even PPV: matches that make the wrestlers that took part in them to this day cringe in sheer agony.
