10 Wrestlers That Bled The Hard Way
8. Samoa Joe (NXT TakeOver: Dallas)
A rematch made better as result of Samoa Joe's horrendous bloodletting from the opening bell onwards, the TakeOver: Dallas main event clash between long-standing NXT Champion Finn Bálor and his fiercest rival took on new life thanks to the plasma left behind by the 'Samoan Submission Machine'.
A clash of heads in the ferocious lockup was the trigger point, and though fans ragged on the referee's enforced attempts to temporarily heal the Challenger's wound, it only drew additional fire from Joe. Acting on instinct to turn the potential setback into something significant, the story of the match was transformed with his every (often, literal) red mist descending.
The pair had two major matches left in them before Finn departed the developmental brand first later that year, but neither the house show title switch in April or Steel Cage finale at June's TakeOver: The End could top the incredible drama of their unexpectedly grisly Texas tête-à-tête.
