10 Wrestlers That Fell Off HARD

6. Bart Gunn

The story of Bart Gunn is one of bizarre creative decisions, decisive knockouts and a burning hatred between Jim Cornette and Vince Russo that will never die. One way it differs from the other entrants on this list is that Gunn was never meant to be in the prominent position he wound up in, and that's likely why it came tumbling down so quickly.

Gunn rose to infamy thanks to the much maligned Brawl for All. This competition, for the uninitiated, was a bracketed tournament that paired wrestlers off into real, unscripted, shoot fights. Gunn was a midcard wrestler who was seemingly only added to boost the numbers, but he ended up winning the whole thing. This came as a big surprise to management who now had to figure out what to do with a star they'd never intended on having.

The powers that be were not confident enough in Gunn to push him into a feud with Steve Austin, as originally intended for their predicted winner 'Dr. Death' Steve Williams. Instead, they put him in an exhibition match at WrestleMania XV against professional boxer Butterbean, who knocked him out in 35 seconds.

After this, Gunn was released from the company and eventually retired from wrestling after a decade or so of working in Japan and making sporadic US appearances.
