10 Wrestlers That NOBODY Hated
2. Eddie Guerrero
Eddie Guerrero was one of the very best all-rounders ever.
He was never as much of a star as, say, Steve Austin, who was right up there in the conversation, but Guerrero could cycle through modes that bit more easily. Austin could do it all, but if there was one flaw to his game, it's that he couldn't effectively play heel after making it as a megastar babyface. It was hard to love to hate Austin, because everything he did felt like an over-correction. He was just unpleasant to watch, since he had to go to such loathsome extremes to get heat.
Guerrero was different; he was able to play a sinister, despicable man in his 2005 series with Rey Mysterio which while silly and soapy was inordinately effective. The ratings data bears that out, too. This followed Eddie's emotive, unforgettable triumph against Brock Lesnar at No Way Out 2004. Fans didn't really despise Eddie, who hadn't turned because they had grown bored of him.
He was simply very useful, and could do literally everything: blow you away with his stunningly crisp, beautiful ring work, charm you with his daft wit with not-great material that he elevated, and make you forget how much you liked him with his heel flair.
If Eddie Guerrero wasn't quite the greatest all-rounder ever, that can only leave...
